Chaenomeles Japonica (Zierquitten)

Chaenomeles japonica is not only optically an enrichment for every garden, the yellow, aromatically fragrant apple fruits are eatable and can be processed, for example, as a compote or jelly. The striking, extremely nice bowl blossoms in different strong colors is by itself fascinating which appears in May and June.

Japanese quinces belong to the humble, robust garden plants. The location should be permeable sunny to half-shady, the soil should be rich in nutrient, humos, and be humid. This plant manages well during dry and frost periods. It is possible to prune these type of garden plants, however, the blossoms form in several years' wood, so that a trim signifies less blossoms next year.

Propagation can be done through stem cuttage.
