Caring and Propagating Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum is a marvelous decoration in your home. The garden chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum grandiflorum) belongs to the most popular potted as well as indoor plants with an abundant flowers as well as new color and form variations.

If planted indoor, it prefers a sunny and bright location but not direct sunlight. During the period of bloom the chrysanthemum must be held always humid and should be fertilized weekly. The withered blossom should be removed regularly to give enough space to new blossoms.  Chrysanthemum can be propagated through stem cutting at about 10 cm long and put it in a bright but sunny place. Another way is putting them in a glas of water. The water should be change regularly.

After the period of bloom, the plant should be cut in half, this will make the plant stronger. Cover it with brushwoods, this will protect the plant during the cold winter season.
