Sunrose (Helianthemum hybrid)

This humble little sunrose (Helianthemum hybrid) is a pretty flower which blooms permantly and adds more colors to your stone garden. The plant grows laxly and bushy, the blossoms sits on straight stalks. The chromatic circle of the blossoms reaches from white, yellow to rose and red.

The location for the garden plant should be sunny and warm,  permeable ground is ideal. Fertilizing it once a month is necessary to stimulate more blossoms.  Little sunrose is suited very well as a garden plant, because they very much winter-hardy up to -20 degrees.

An essential component of caring Sunrose is trimming the plant after it blossoms. In this manner the growth is controlled as well as stimulated. Pruning improves the aerial circulation within the whole shrub. It is important not to wait too long, at the latest in September otherwise the plant doesn't have enough strength to survive in the winter season.  Propagation can be done through stem cutting at about 5-6 cm long with at least 4 leaves on top.
