Caring and Propagating Calliopsis (Mädchenauge)

With its compact growth it suits perfectly for colored flowerbeds. Calliopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata) is a long blossoming garden plant which reaches a height from up to 80 cms and blossoms from June to August. The remarkable blossoms of the plant are golden brown and partly red in the middle.

The garden plant needs permeable soil rich in nutrient as well as a lot of sun. Withered flowers should be remove, this stimulates more blossoms. Although it doesn't needs much care, fertilizing it increases also more flowers .

Calliopsis should be trimmed down in September. Propagation can be done through stem cutting.
