Saponaria ocymoides (Rotes Teppich-Seifenkraut)

A sea of flowers for your stone garden. The Rotes Teppich-Seifenkraut (Saponaria ocymoides) is a wonderful garden plant. She grows upholsterer-shaped and shows a vast amout of blossoms in pink tone between May and July.

The plant is very well suited for overhanging use, it looks likewise very good on dry walls. The plant stands best of all in a dry, permeable soil in a sunny location.

In summer, you can trim the plant to stimulate blossoms the second time around and it prevents seeds propagation in the garden. In the cold season no special protection is necessary because of its robust nature.
