Pan de Sal (Bread Rolls)

Pan de Sal is a traditional Filipino bread rolls mostly eaten during breakfast. Easy to make, taste like my favorite Pan de Sal way back home in the Philippines.

TiP: Here, I just used not so much sugar as requested by my family, since we eat them paired with sausages, eggs, bacon, etc. So much sugar is not so advisable BUT you can add more sugar as you want. It just depends on your taste!wink

What more can I wish for?heart

1 cup warm Milk
1 pack dry yeast
1 tsp sugar (optional)

1 egg
1-1/4 cup warm milk
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp melted butter
5 cups flour or 600g flour
1 tsp salt

1. Mix the dry yeast in warm milk and add 1 tsp sugar. The sugar is optional.

2. In a big bowl, mix the egg, warm milk, sugar and melted.

3. Then add the milk-yeast mixture. Mix well again.

4. Add salt and the flour slowly to the mixture and mix them well.

5. Knead until the dough is smooth for about 10-12 minutes.

6. Put the dough in an oiled container, cover in a plastic wrap and put it in a warm place.

7. Let it rise for about 1,5 hours.

8. After 1,5 hours it should have doubled it size. In a clean surface, sprinkle some flour and knead the dough again for about 3 minutes

9. Cut the dough in desired sizes. I like them small and roll them in the breadcrumbs.

10. Put them in a greased baking pan or on a baking paper and let them rest for another 45 minutes.

11. Bake them at 170°C for about 20-30 or until done.

Enjoy! wink
