Leche Flan (Créme Caramel)

Leche Flan is a popular dessert in the Philippines. A great idea to prepare this Christmas or for any occasion.

TiP: If you put them in the refrigerator, melt the caramel by putting them for a few minutes on a basin with hot water.

Heres what you need:

100g Sugar
312 ml unsweetened Condensed Milk
5 medium size egg yolk

For the Caramel:
5 tbsp brown Sugar
4 tbsp Water

1. In a bowl gently mix the sugar, milk and egg yolks. In the video I mixed them fast since it doesn't bother me if the flan is smoother or not.

2. To prevent bubbles in your leche flan just use a strainer or cloth, that way your flan will be smoother.

3. The easiest way to make a caramel out or brown sugar is to combine the sugar with water and let it boil over low heat while stirring it until it is caramelized.

4. In a form, first add the caramel sugar, then add the mixture (sugar, condensed milk and egg yolks).

5. Fill a baking pan with water and put the forms on it and baked it at 165°C for about 20 minutes or until the flan is hard.

Refrigerate it and serve cold or eat them immediately.wink
