Prime Boiled Beef Fillet (Tafelspitz)

Prime Boiled Beef Fillet (Tafelspitz) - originally comes from Austria and is very popular here in Germany.

The sauce consists of horseradish but since I am a very big fan of it, I made an easy tasty alternative sauce and it is absolute perfect!

Here's what you need:

800g Beef shoulder
1 tsp Salt = 1000 ml water
bay leaves
cloves
1 sliced onions
chopped celery
carrot slices

Sauce ingredients:
Butter
Flour
Beef Boullion

1.  Boil the 1 liter water in a pot, add the beef shoulder and 1 tsp salt for every liter water.

2.  Once the water is boiling set the temperature to low and cook it for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.

3.  Add the onions, celery and carrots.

4.  To make the sauce, heat some butter. Using a whisk, mixed in boullion, flour and add some of the beef soup.

5.  I did not use any measurements here since the sauce should suite your taste. Add more from the butter or flour or boullion if needed.

6.  Serve with rice or cooked potatoes.

Enjoy! wink
