Very Soft Spelt Sandwich Bread

You should try this recipe, it is very soft and delicious! It is made from Spelt flour and is better than plain all-purpose flour.


25g Spelt flour
100ml Water

125ml warm milk
1 tbsp sugar
1 pack active dry yeast (7g)

350g Spelt flour
1 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp honey
50g melted butter

1.  Mix 25g spelt flour and 100 ml water in a pan.  Cook over low heat and whisk until it looks like a "pudding". Set aside.

2.  In a small bowl mix warm milk, sugar and active dry yeast well. Set aside.

3.  Using a bread machine add all of the ingredients and choose the dough setting (this may take 1.5 hours).
     Without using a bread machine, just mix all the ingredients in a big bowl and knead to form a dough for
     about 10-15 minutes. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

4.  When the dough is ready take them out of the machine and knead them a bit to form that fits in a greased baking pan.

5.  Cover it in a plastic wrap and let it stand for about 30-45 minutes in a warm place.

6.  Take the plastic wrap away and bake it at 150° C for about 30 minutes or until done.
